Osteoarthritis (OA) is a leading cause of disability in developed countries. The World Health Organization estimates that 10% of men and 18% of women over age 60 suffer from this disease. Presently we have no drugs that stop or even slow its progression.
Enabling Future Pharma 2015 (EFP 2015) will focus on drug discovery for Osteoarthritis (OA). This objective is responsive to a major societal need given the rapidly increasing impact of OA around the world and the present lack of effective medications to halt progression of this disease.
