What do I need to know about attending my first Congress

What to wear: typically business or smart casual attire but in some cases business casual is acceptable
What do I do if I have a question during a talk? During most sessions, the moderators will allow time for questions at the end of each talk. Typically, there will be microphones in the room so at the end of the talk, you can step up to one of the microphones and ask your question once the moderator indicates that it is your turn. It’s best practice to state your name and affiliation (University, etc.) to introduce yourself before asking a question
Other tips: Don’t be afraid to introduce yourself to new people and ask lots of questions. Be sure to wear your badge for all events. The opening reception, poster sessions, and coffee breaks can be good times to meet people in a casual setting and small groups. Poster presenters are encouraged to stand at their posters during pre-specified sessions (check the program for days and times); this can be a good time to ask questions in a less formal setting and to meet researchers working in your area.
