Rehab Discussion Group Announces Journal Club Session

   
   

The OARSI Rehabilitation Discussion Group is hosting a Journal Club session.

Title: Have we oversold the benefits of Exercise? A critical look at the evidence.

Topic: Discuss findings and implications of Mel Holden’s recent publication, ‘Holden MA, Hattle M, Runhaar J, et al. Moderators of the effect of therapeutic exercise for knee and hip osteoarthritis: a systematic review and individual participant data meta-analysis. Lancet 2023; published online June 12.

Login to oarsi.org using your member id and password (click the LOGIN link in the top right menu). LOGIN now becomes MY DASHBOARD. Click it. From the Dashboard, click the My Demographics link. Scroll down to “Which Discussion Groups would you like to join?” Check the appropriate box(es). Scroll to the bottom and click UPDATE to save your preferences. Session Description: 

Obesity is a complex but highly relevant topic in osteoarthritis (OA) research. Multiple areas of exploration are ongoing to disentangle and understand the relevance of adipose-related inflammation and mechanical stress on OA risk, progression, and treatment. This webinar will explore aspects of bench to bedside research in this sphere, and highlight considerations to bridge knowledge translation efforts and ensure that our understanding and approaches to improve health outcomes for individuals with or at risk for OA continues to advance in the next decade.
