Osteoarthritis and Cartilage Open- NOW ACCEPTING MANUSCRIPTS

A NEW OARSI Open access Journal

Based on its vision to be the preeminent voice and expert resource in OA research and its application worldwide through a thriving international network of passionate, purpose-driven and progressive leadership, the Osteoarthritis Research Society recognized the need to establish Osteoarthritis and Cartilage Open, a new scientific open access journal that would publish multidisciplinary findings from the clinical and basic sciences in all fields of research of relevance to osteoarthritis, cartilage, and intervertebral disc in the form of original articles, reviews and hypotheses. Osteoarthritis and Cartilage Open will also accept experimental and clinical study protocols and manuscripts describing the large data sets obtained from experimental or clinical studies. We at Osteoarthritis and Cartilage Open will strive to provide a decisive and fair peer review process, and a fast turnaround time. The selected open access model will allow that the published results will be freely available to everyone to read, providing for a high rate of unrestricted distribution and increased visibility of the research to a wide audience worldwide, extending the impact of OARSI. We aim at a rapid listing of Osteoarthritis and Cartilage Open in PubMed, and foresee that all previously published content will be retrospectively included. To simultaneously keep the Article Processing Charge low while supporting the open access model, the OARSI has negotiated with our publisher Elsevier a special rate for OARSI members, which will be USD 768 per accepted article in 2019 when at least one author is a member of OARSI and USD 864 in 2020.
