Call for Award Nominations

Lifetime Achievement Award

OARSI would like to invite members to nominate an individual(s) for the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.

This award is intended to honor a person who has devoted much of their career (at least 20 years)  to the advancement of the science associated with osteoarthritis. It may be in a broad area or may be in a specific area of the disease, but preferably both. For example, the broad advancement may be in the promotion and education about osteoarthritis, leadership in the field, a past leader of the society, repeated innovations that have advanced the field.  Examples of a specific arena would be epidemiology, pathology, surgery, cartilage biology, molecular biology, biomechanics.

Call for Volunteers:
OARSI Task Force for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The OARSI Board has charged a new Task Force to convene this spring to address ways in which the organization can promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in its membership and activities. We are interested in identifying a diverse group of volunteers -- with respect to gender, age, geographic location, and scientific focus -- to join the Task Force. The Task Force will meet by videoconference three or four times between March and June 2022, for about an hour each meeting. The goals of the Task Force are to:

  • Assess aspects of OARSI membership, activities, processes, and committee and leadership structures where there appear to be deficits in diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Propose remedies to these deficits
  • Outline a work plan and timeline to achieve these remedies
  • Present these recommendations to the Board for implementation

If you are interested in joining this effort, please complete a brief application HERE.
We encourage Early Career Investigators to apply.

DEADLINE: February 23, 2022

We anticipate holding one-hour meetings in March, April, and May 2022.
