Have You Renewed Your 2021 OARSI Membership?

During the COVID-19 pandemic, OARSI recognized the challenges that resulted from the pandemic. As a result, we provided free memberships to our valued members. In addition, we created free educational opportunities in the form of a webinar series. Now more than ever, OARSI needs your support to continue making OARSI the premier international research organization for scientists and health care professionals focused on the prevention and treatment of osteoarthritis. If you have not renewed your membership, we ask that you do so as soon as possible. By renewing your OARSI membership you will continue to receive both OARSI journals and all of the other great membership benefits. To join, please click HERE.

Next week, a call for Nominations to the OARSI Board of Directors will be distributed to all OARSI members.  The deadline for Board nominations is August 31, 2021.  Further information will be provided next week and may be found on the OARSI website

Meet the OARSI Ethics and Governance Committee

The Ethics Committee ensures that all OARSI activities meet the highest ethical standards of the Society. The committee reviews disclosures from the board, board nominees, committee, and initiative participants. It also makes recommendations to the board, and enforces the OARSI Code of Ethics. The Ethics and Governance Committee is also responsible for reviewing OARSI’s governance policies (bylaws, committee mandates) and makes recommendations to the board.

Ethics and Governance Committee Chair - Sita Bierma-Zeinstra
Professor Sita Bierma-Zeinstra is leading the Osteoarthritis Research Group at the Department of General Practice, Erasmus MC, is head of clinical research at the Orthopedic Department, Erasmus MC, and supervises a group of 30 researchers. All research projects are related to osteoarthritis and consist mainly of large-scale randomized clinical trials and prospective cohort studies. She is also heading the international OA Trial Bank that performs meta-analysis with individual trial data to identify osteoarthritis subgroups with better effect of certain treatments. Sita Bierma-Zeinstra published widely (> 450 peer-reviewed publications listed in pubmed) in the area of osteoarthritis and related disorders. Introducing OARSI Meeting Manager - Ashton Hald

Please help us welcome OARSI's new Meeting Manager, Ashton Hald to the team.

Ashton has been in the meeting and event management industry for 15 years planning meetings in the scientific and not-for-profit environments. Before Association Headquarters, Ashton worked for the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) where she was part of a team managing more than forty 250-500 person meetings and a 15,000-person citywide conference annually.  She joined AH in 2016 and has been the meeting manager for the National Air Duct Cleaners Association, a global trade association.
