Member Spotlight: Mohit Kapoor

This week's member spotlight is OARSI Board of Director Member, Mohit Kapoor.

How long have you been a member of OARSI and why did you join?
I have been a member for over 12 years. I joined OARSI because it is the world leading organization focused on OA research and patient care.

What do you enjoy most about OARSI?
OARSI promotes a collaborative approach versus siloes. Personally, OARSI has helped me develop as a scientist, a collaborator, and as a mentor.

Tell us a little bit about your research?
My research program utilizes high throughput multi-omics approaches to: (1) Understand the complex cellular and molecular mechanisms associated with joint destruction during osteoarthritis; (2) Identify reliable biomarkers for early identification of patients with osteoarthritis to enable early intervention; (3) Identify novel therapeutic targets to stop/delay osteoarthritis and restore joint function.

What are you most excited about for the future of OARSI?
OARSI is instrumental in developing next-generation scientists, educators and clinicians focused on finding better treatments, and diagnostics tools and developing innovative models of care, ultimately driving science and transforming patient care in osteoarthritis.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Cricket, music, and interior designing.
