Beware of Fraudulent Conferences

We are seeing an increasing number of incidences of fake societies claiming to be looking for studies to include in journals and promoting fraudulent conferences.  Individuals can be deceived into thinking that they are paying to register for a conference that doesn't exist. Many of the bogus conferences are related to osteoarthritis.

Some telltale signs to watch out for include email messages that include excessive use of punctuation, awkward language (including the words greetings, groovy and excellent in the first sentence) and a questionable reply to email address.  Please be mindful and cautious of responding to requests from organizations that are unfamiliar to you.
